Kawasaki has launched the MY27 Versys 1100 in India at Rs 13.89 lakh, ex-showroom — and the honest headline is what hasn't changed. Kawasaki has carried the outgoing model forward almost untouched, just with a new model-year badge.
What Stays Exactly The Same
The 1,099cc liquid-cooled inline-four continues to produce 135PS at 9,000rpm and 112Nm at 7,600rpm, paired with a 6-speed gearbox. Kawasaki's engineers have made small internal tweaks — taller 5th and 6th gears, a slightly lower rev ceiling — aimed at improving fuel economy without sacrificing highway punch. The aluminium twin-tube frame, adjustable 43mm inverted fork, remote-adjustable monoshock, and dual-channel cornering ABS all carry over unchanged.
Even the price is identical to the outgoing 2026 model. One colour only: Metallic Matte Graphene Steel Gray / Metallic Diablo Black.
Where It Falls Behind Rivals
Here's the honest gap. No TFT display — the Versys 1100 still runs a semi-digital console with an analogue tachometer, a step behind most rivals in this segment. One ZigWheels commenter put it bluntly: "when almost all expensive touring bikes have large feature-laden TFT dashes, how does this bike sell?"
The Versys 1100 competes against the Triumph Tiger 900 GT and BMW F 900 GS — both of which offer more modern electronics packages at similar or lower prices.
Deliveries begin mid-September 2026.
