A million customers is a genuinely rare number for any single electric vehicle model in India. TVS Motor Company has just confirmed the iQube has crossed exactly that, and the company is marking the occasion with a dedicated special edition rather than just a press release.
The iQube MillionR Special Edition, priced at Rs 1,40,138, effective ex-showroom Karnataka, is based on the existing 3.5kWh variant. TVS Motor Company hasn't touched the underlying motor, battery, or performance specs for this edition — the changes are entirely about marking the milestone with distinct styling and added convenience.
Why the Badge Itself Carries History
Here's a detail that gives this launch more weight than a typical special edition. TVS first used the "MillionR" name back in 2016, on the petrol-powered Jupiter, when that scooter crossed its own one-million-customer mark. The Jupiter has since gone on to surpass 9 million customers — a genuinely massive number for a single scooter nameplate.
Bringing the same badge back for the iQube isn't incidental. TVS is deliberately drawing a line between its most successful petrol scooter and its flagship electric one, positioning the iQube's milestone as a continuation of that same legacy rather than a standalone EV achievement.
What Actually Changes on the Special Edition
The MillionR gets an exclusive Aurora Green Dual Tone colour scheme, inspired by the Northern Lights, along with new graphics, premium seat upholstery, and dedicated MillionR badging throughout.
On the practical side, a new front utility storage compartment pushes total storage capacity from 32 litres to 35.5 litres — a genuinely useful bump for daily commuters who rely on under-seat and front storage for groceries, bags, or a spare helmet. An integrated USB Type-C charging port rounds out the convenience additions, alongside access to TVS's full suite of more than 118 connected technology features.
Performance figures stay identical to the standard 3.5kWh iQube: a 145km IDC-rated range, 82km/h top speed, and a 0-80% charge time of 4 hours 30 minutes.
Why This Milestone Matters for TVS
TVS Motor Senior Vice President Aniruddha Haldar framed the achievement in terms of the company's broader role in India's shift toward electric mobility, describing the iQube's one-million milestone alongside the Jupiter's nine-million mark as significant chapters in TVS's ongoing evolution to meet Indian families' changing needs.
That framing matters in context. The iQube has been central to TVS Motor's position as the current market-share leader in India's electric two-wheeler category — a segment that's grown increasingly competitive as more manufacturers push aggressively into EVs. Hitting a million individual customers on a single electric model is a meaningful data point in that competition, not just a symbolic number.
What It Signals About India's EV Scooter Market
A million-unit milestone for any electric two-wheeler model is still a relatively new kind of achievement in India — the market itself has only existed at meaningful scale for a handful of years. That the iQube specifically has reached this mark ahead of most rivals says something about how consistently TVS has been able to convert interest into actual, sustained ownership, rather than just strong launch-quarter numbers that fade afterward.
For TVS, the iQube MillionR Edition works as both a celebration and a statement: after years of building toward this number, the company is putting a visible marker on it, right as competition in the electric scooter space continues to intensify.
