MG has brought back the dark and light Storm editions of the Hector for the 2026 model year. The Blackstorm and the Snowstorm were launched on October 7, and both cost Rs 19,99,800 (ex-showroom), or Rs 19.99 lakh in round numbers.
These are styling packs, not new cars. The mechanical package carries over, and what you pay for is the paint, the trim and the accessories.
What Powers Them
Both editions use the 1.5-litre turbocharged petrol engine making 143PS and 250Nm. The sources we checked agree on a CVT automatic. One listing mentioned a six-speed manual as well, but the other three reports describe the editions as CVT-only, so we are treating the CVT as the only confirmed gearbox. There is no diesel.
How They Look
The Blackstorm is black from end to end. The Snowstorm has a white body with a black roof and black detailing. Both share the same detail work:
- A black Storm Hex grille and black headlamp bezels
- Aura Storm Blade alloy wheels with red brake calipers
- Dark chrome logos and piano-black roof rails
- Smoked connected tail lamps
MG will also fit a pack of dealer accessories free of cost: edition badges, a red tailgate accent, fog-lamp surrounds, red-accented mirror covers and side steps.
Inside
The cabin switches to a Nimbus Black theme with black leather seats, edition-specific embossing on the front headrests and a gunmetal-finish leather-wrapped steering wheel.
The equipment list includes:
- A 14-inch portrait touchscreen and a 7-inch digital driver display
- A dual-pane panoramic sunroof, eight-colour ambient lighting and a powered tailgate
- Powered and ventilated front seats, plus a wireless charger, in some reports
- A 360-degree camera and ADAS
- Six airbags in one report, plus ABS, EBD, ESP and hill-hold control
- 70-plus connected features and a digital Bluetooth key
MG's 3+3+3 warranty package covers three years of unlimited-km warranty, three years of roadside assistance and three labour-free services. The editions also come with financing up to 84 months.
Where They Fit
At almost Rs 20 lakh, the Storm Hector competes with the top versions of the Tata Harrier, Mahindra XUV 7XO and Jeep Compass. The pitch is a loaded five-seater with a distinct look rather than a bigger engine or more space.
What We Could Not Confirm
Sources disagreed on the regular Hector's starting price and did not name the exact variant the Storm editions are based on, so we cannot say how much extra the edition costs. No booking dates or delivery timelines were published.
