Bajaj has been quietly testing an adventure motorcycle on Indian roads for months. Now, for the first time, someone inside the company has actually put a rough date on when it might arrive.
Waldyr Ferreira, Executive Director of Bajaj Brazil, has hinted that the company's upcoming ADV could launch in Brazil as early as December 2026. That timeline, combined with the bike's advanced testing stage in India, points to an India launch by early 2027.
What the Executive Actually Said
Ferreira didn't hold back on enthusiasm. He described the possible December launch as a "Christmas gift" for customers, and confirmed that test units of the motorcycle have already reached Brazil. He also said he's personally ridden one of the units and came away impressed with both the product and its specifications.
That's a meaningfully different level of detail than the spy shots and speculation this bike has generated over the past several months. Brazil, according to Ferreira, will be one of the primary markets for the motorcycle — which suggests the country could get first access before India does.
Meet the Bajaj Trekker
The motorcycle has a name now: Trekker. It's built on an entirely new platform, and Bajaj is expected to give it an engine derived from the existing Pulsar N250.
Calling it an "ADV" has actually been something of a misnomer throughout its testing phase. Spy shots consistently show a bike shaped more like a dual-sport — closer in spirit to the Hero Xpulse 210 than to a full-size touring adventure bike. Sources indicate the Trekker was primarily developed with Latin American markets in mind, where there's steady demand for affordable, low-capacity dual-sport motorcycles capable of handling varied road surfaces, similar to bikes like the Honda NXR 150 Bros.
What the Spy Shots Reveal
Recent test mules have shown a bike in advanced development, with very little camouflage left. It was spotted running alongside a group of Bajaj Pulsars and a KTM Adventure model, reinforcing that this is very much a Bajaj-badged product built with input from Bajaj's long-running partnership with KTM.
Design details borrow selectively from Bajaj's existing lineup. The taillight and swingarm design closely resemble what's already on the Pulsar NS200, but the rest of the motorcycle — the tall stance, high-mounted front fender, long single-piece seat, and substantial tank-area bodywork — looks like a clean break from anything currently in Bajaj's catalogue.
A top box has also been spotted fitted to test units, with what appears to be enough remaining space for a passenger even with luggage installed.
Pricing and Where It Fits
Expect the Trekker to land around Rs 2 lakh, ex-showroom, when it reaches India. At that price, it would go up directly against the Hero Xpulse 210 and the upcoming Honda XR300L and XR300 Rally — putting real pressure on a segment that hasn't seen much fresh competition recently.
For Bajaj, this fills a gap that's been oddly absent from its lineup for years. The company has built adventure bikes for KTM for a long time, but has never sold a proper ADV or dual-sport under its own name. If the Brazil timeline holds and India follows by early 2027 as expected, that gap is finally closing.
